Violet Dougherty

Violet Dougherty, 89, of Independence, Kentucky passed away on March 25, 2018 at The Season's of Alexandria. She was born on December 20, 1928 to the late Otto and Ada Klaus. Violet married John Dougherty and he preceded her in death in 1969. Violet was a loving caregiver who enjoyed working in the yard. She attended New Beginnings Community Church.
Violet is survived by her loving children Kenneth Canfield, Darlene (Charles) Fletcher, Harold (Vickie) Dougherty; grandchildren Neilly, Shawn, Lisa, April, John, Kayla; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and her sister Dolores Tunning; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Violet was preceded in death by her siblings Robert, Donny, Betty, Thelma and Norma.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions be made to New Beginnings Community Church, 522 5th Ave. Dayton, KY 41074
A funeral service will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 26, 2018 at 1pm. A private burial will take in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
