Arthur's daughter Meredith shared her thoughts in the following way:
Here is to Arthur Lee Butler, just shy of his 80th birthday. Lover of key lime pie, Miami University, New Orleans Dixieland, am radio, football, terrible jokes, and the ocean. Here's to the guy who chaperoned Kindergarten field trips, decorated lunch bags and stood up in the audience to applaud for me at dance recitals.
Here's to the guy who made life an interesting journey; showed me a lot about patience and hard work. We didn't always see eye to eye but at the end of the day, I wouldn't be me without him.
The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, Miami University Athletic Department or the Masonic Snow Lodge in Harrison, Ohio.
