Asberry Deaton

July 6, 1929 — February 23, 2016

Asberry "Shorty" Deaton,
86 of Independence, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He enjoyed gardening and mowing the lawn. Shorty is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Hannah Deaton; sons Clayton Campbell and Asberry Deaton Jr.; brothers Aurther and Luther Deaton; sisters Lucy Epperson and Meg Hensley. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Plinnie Deaton. Shorty is also survived by his children Billy Ray Deaton, Scott Campbell, Glenda Fultz, Julie Deaton, Wanda Bell-Burk and Joan Deaton; sister Liddie Daniels; brothers Ben Deaton Jr. and Samuel Deaton; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 11 am until time of Funeral Service at 2pm. Burial will immediately follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
