Barbara Delain Cheek

Babara Delain Cheek was born on February 1, 1936, in Jackson County, KY but resided most of her life in Northern KY. She passed away on August 3, 2024, at the Willows of Shelbyville in Shelbyville, IN at the age of 88. Barbara was a member of Community Family Church in Independence, KY and retired from Greater Cincinnati Orthopedics in 2007.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ethel Bowles of Independence, KY and her late husband, William O. Cheek.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sheri Helton and her husband Danny of Indianapolis, IN. She is also survived by two grandsons, Aaron (Emily) Helton and their children, Madison, Aidan and Greta of Edinburgh, IN and Adam (Taylor) Helton and their children, Kiersten, Makenzie, Jaden, Ali, Lily, Jaxon and Karson of Greenwood, IN.

Barbara is additionally survived by her late husband’s children, Lana Cheek of Lexington, KY, Gary (Sharon) Cheek of Harrodsburg, KY, Kathy (Donnie) Duncan of Harrodsburg, KY, Donnie (Patricia) Cheek of Corinth, KY, Sandy (Alfred) Corbin of Columbia, KY and Steve Cheek of Latonia, KY.

A visitation celebrating Barbara’s life will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Floral Hills Funeral Home ~ Chapel A, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, KY 41015. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Barbara will then be laid to rest peacefully at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
