Barbara Ann Smith

Barbara Ann Smith, 74, of Covington, died Thursday, December 21, 2023, with her family by her bedside.  She was born August 25, 1949, in Covington, the daughter of the late Bernard H. Bloemer and Barbara Schwienher Bloemer, and stepfather Norbert (Matt) Mersch.  She was a retired Nurses Aide with over 30 years service at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Smith in 2010 and grandchildren, Corey and Kelsey Smith in 1989.  She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Russell (J), Michelle Smith; her grandchildren, Ashlee Browning (Alex), Jacob Russell, Joshua Russell; brother and sisters, Bill Bloemer (Carol), Lorraine Bloemer, and Nancy Bloemer (Frank). Along with many nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held 10AM Friday, December 29, 2023, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, with John Sennhenn officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday.  Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
