Bertha Ruth Abney

Bertha Ruth Abney, 84, of Taylor Mill, KY, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Coldspring Transitional Care in Coldspring, KY. She was born December 20, 1939, in Covington, KY, the daughter of the late Everett Rider and Georgia Tarvin Rider. Bertha was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Covington, KY. She was a retired Head Cook for Scott High School and also served as a Sunday school teacher at Decoursey Baptist Church for many years. Bertha is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Bill C. Abney, also her children; David K. Abney ,Don D. Abney (Cheryl), Daniel L. Abney, her siblings ; Dennis Rider (Cathy) , Brenda McDaniel(Russ), Gary Rider (Chris), her grandchildren ; Krista, Nicole, great grandchildren; Izabella, Aubrey, Raelynn, Tevis, Aliyah, and Ryleigh, along with a host of other relatives and friends. Also, in loving memory of her grandchildren who have proceeded Bertha in death, Nathaniel and Hailey. And her siblings; Pete, Everett, Arnold, Charlie, Dot and Alice. A Visitation will be held Friday June 28, 2024, from 9:00am to 11:00am at Floral Hills Funeral Home Chapel A. The Funeral Service with follow at 11:00am with Pastor Randy Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. To celebrate Bertha’s life there will be food provided afterwards at Floral Hills Chapel A that her family would like to invite everyone to.
