Billy Wayne Cannon

April 14, 1967 — April 19, 2024

Independence

Billy Wayne Cannon, 57, of Independence, KY, passed away on April 19, 2024.

Bill was born April 14, 1967 to the late Robert Cannon and Betty Bates of Centerville, TN, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN.

At just 16 years old, Bill began dating the girl of his dreams, Tammy (Bowling) Cannon. Bill and Tammy shared 36 years of marriage, and had 2 children together: Justin (Lauren) Cannon of Walton, KY and Chasity Greer of Independence, KY. Above all, Bill was a proud and devoted Papaw to his 5 granddaughters: Madison, Kiah-Lynn, Payton, Makenna, and Kehlani. He leaves behind siblings: James (Lisa) Cannon, Rhonda (Brent) Staggs, and Gary (Trisha) Cannon; and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was a skilled carpenter and overall jack of all trades. He had never met a stranger; and always had a smile to lend and a joke to tell. He was an avid Peyton Manning fan, loved cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, and cooking for his family and for Faith Community Church in Independence, KY, on Wednesday nights.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 27th at 11:00am at Faith Community Church, 4310 Richardson Rd, Independence, KY. Flowers can be delivered to the church the morning of the service before 11:00am.
