Burlis Clayton Dean, 83, of Alexandria, Kentucky passed away in his home surrounded by his family. Burlis was born in Cold Spring, Kentucky on October 9, 1934 to the late Thomas and Mary Dean. On August 23, 1958 he married Irona Bishop, and she survives. Burlis served in the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed bowling and his Masonic Order. His memberships include Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Alexandria, Scottish Rite of Covington, KYCH, Hamer Lodge in Owensville, Ohio, Henry Barnes Lodge #607 Newport. Burlis was currently worthy patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Rosebud Chapter #39 and a charter member of the John H. Campbell Council.
In addition to his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Irona Dean, Burlis is survived by his children Sharon (Roy) Holland, Deborah (Jim McClannahan) Pape, Bob (Barbara) Dean, Jan (Roy) Watson; sister Ruth Trumbull; 6 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many extended family members and friends.
A visitation will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 4pm until time of Masonic Services at 7pm. A traditional funeral service will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 11am. Military honors and burial will immediately follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
