On January 10, 2024, we lost our mother, Carol Ann Sullivan Ross. Born on October 20, 1940, she was 83 years old when she passed. Carol was a mother to many and a friend to all. The eight of us were blessed to call her Mom.
Always the caregiver, Carol fulfilled her lifelong dream at the age of 45 and earned her nursing degree. She worked for St. Elizabeth Healthcare until her retirement. Carol loved cooking, eating, feeding people, bird watching, bright colors, plants, and flowers. As owner of the Dairy Cottage, she was known for her legendary homemade ice creams. Reading was her favorite pastime, and she has been credited with single-handedly keeping the magazine companies in business. She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She never turned down an invitation to socialize. She loved the Lord and loved others unconditionally.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Mary Sullivan, her brother-in-law Tom Kallmeyer, and her son-in-law Mike Bush (Mary).
Carol is survived by her children Kelly Daly, Brett (Anita) Ross, Rebecca Ross, Sherri (David) Wren, Laurie Ross, Scott Ross, Todd Ross, and Mary Bush. She also leaves behind her sisters Maureen Kallmeyer and Judith Parsons, beloved cousins, and many life-long friends. A loving grandmother, Carol was MawMaw to 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great-grandchild.
