Charles E. Hensley, 86, passed away in his sleep on August 3, 2018. He was born on May 6, 1932 to the late Starling and Minnie Belle Hensley. Charles served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and he was a purple heart recipient. He had been a past member of the Ryland Heights VFW. Charles enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Center of Independence with his brothers and sister, as well as spending time with his family. He also enjoyed cars. Charles was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be sadly missed.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Starling and Minnie Belle Hensley; daughter Donna Hensley-Clair; brothers Earl Hensley, Bobby Hensley, Bill Hensley and Paul Hensley; sisters Marie Hensley, Edith Hensley-Harris and Bonnie Hensley; and his sister in law Sue Hensley.
Charles is survived by his children Charles L. Hensley and Barbara Hensley-Faulkner; grandchildren Amber (Brian) Roaden, Arin (Jason) Kraemer, Lindsay (Sam) Kirst, Gregory (Sheri Hoydal) Faulkner; great grandchildren Austin Roaden, Brian Roaden, Colin Roaden, Sydney Kraemer, Kasey Kraemer and Leo Kirst; great great grandchildren Sophia Roaden and Aiden Roaden; brothers Gilbert (Belinda) Hensley, Jimmy (Brenda) Hensley, Randy (Linda) Hensley; sister Gloria (Wendell) Phillips; sisters in law Georgette Hensley and Sharon Hensley; numerous nieces and nephews and many extended family members in London, Kentucky.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
