David Watkins

David Kie Watkins of Florence, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2020 at the age of 69.  He was born November 22, 1950 to Kie and Loney Watkins.  He retired after 45 years of service from Western Southern of Cincinnati, OH as a maintenance mechanic.  David gave his heart to Christ in early 2020.  He loved fishing, hunting, sports, puzzles, word games and had a passion for trivia.  He was also known for putting a smile on your face whether that be from telling a joke or playing a prank.

David is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Amanda Watkins of Florence, KY; sons Rick (Karla) Watkins of Walton, KY and Tony Watkins of Florence, KY; grandchildren Brittany (Josh) Leach and Derek Watkins of Walton, KY; sister Janice Gray of Stamping Ground, KY; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly.

David was preceded in death by his son Shane Watkins in 2018; parents Kie and Loney Watkins; siblings Clarence, James, Claude, Winford, Gordon and Veda Watkins.

A Visitation will be held on at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 11 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Burial will immediately follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
