Dorthea Cummins

Dorothea Hutchins Cummins, age 95 of Independence, passed away Tuesday 2/22/11 at her residence. A homemaker who was a member of Visalia Baptist Church, Oak Ridge Homemakers Club and the Utopia club who enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and baking. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles Cummins in 1998. Survived by daughter Charlene Harney of Independence, son Gary Cummins of Morning View, sister Eloise Logston of Louisville, brother Glen Hutchins of Dixon, Tn., 2 grandsons, 3 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be Saturday 2/26/11 at Chambers & Grubbs Independence. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 a.m. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Floral Hills Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
