72 of Independence, Kentucky passed away January 11, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Edgewood, Kentucky. Elmer was devoted to his family and a member of the Berean Baptist Church. He had a love of nature and ability to make anything grow. Elmer is survived by his loving wife Charlotte Heis and his children Robin (husband Patrick) Garrison, Buffie (husband Ed) Blackledge, Rachael (husband Josh) Sebastian and Erin Heis; grandchildren Susanna, Gerald, Daniel, Sheldon and Anthony Garrison, Katie and Anna Blackledge, Oliver and Jasper Sebastian and Snoopy Heis; brothers Charles Heis and Mel Heis. Memorials suggested to the Berean Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 from 4pm until time of Funeral Service 7pm at the Berean Baptist Church, 11883 Wilson Road, Independence, Kentucky 41051. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Floral Hills Funeral Home is serving the family.
