Emeline Krechting, 99, of Phoenix Arizona, formerly of Newport, KY died Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Brookdale Union Hills Memory Care Center in Peoria, Arizona. She was born September 15, 1925, in Sias, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Floyd Garfield and Lelia A. Adkins Garfield. She was retired from Cincinnati Bell as a Telephone Operator and also worked as a Greeter at WalMart. She was a former member of First Baptist Church in Newport and attended Hillside Baptist Church in Phoenix. She loved going to church and visiting family, was a great storyteller and made flashlights and grenades during World War II. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Scott, of Phoenix, AZ, grandchildren Jeremy Adson (Dora); Jami Adson (Rickie); and Garry Strange (Karen); three great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband Richard W. Krechting and her son, Garrett Strange II, and siblings Kermit and Colvin Adkins; Flawn Fletcher; Dorotha Ruf; Doska Everson; Aletta Hope Adkins and Fern Adkins. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, October 21, 2024 at Floral Hills Funeral Home (Chapel A), with Pastor Randy Wallace officiating, where visitation will be held Monday from 11-1 PM. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
