Ernest R. Long, 78, of Venice Fla., formerly of Villa Hills, died Saturday at Venice Regional Medical Center, Venice, Fla.
He was a retired manager from General Electric, Cincinnati, a Marine veteran of the Korean War, a member of Latonia Baptist Church, 32nd Degree KCCH Scottish Rite, York Rite, Royal Order of Scotland, past master of Latonia Lodge No. 746 F&AM, past member of the Syrian Shrine, past patron of Order of the Eastern Star No. 39 Rosebud Chapter, Order of Amaranth Queen Esther Court No. 21, and past watchman with White Shrine of Jerusalem Shepherds Covington Shrine No. 10.
A son, Mark Steven Long, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Meeks Long; a brother, Martin Long of Mobile, Ala.; and a sister, Louise Kingcade of Mobile, Ala.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Latonia Baptist Church Chapel. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill.
