Ernest Mays

Ernest "Glenn" Mays, 61, of Taylor Mill, Kentucky passed away at his home on October 24, 2020 surrounded by his loving family and friends. Glenn was born on June 3, 1959 to his loving parents, Ernest and Charlene Mays. Throughout his childhood he learned kindness and a deep affection for the outdoors (especially fishing) that he shared with his father and later passed on to his children and grandchildren. An avid outdoorsman who was skilled in fishing, hunting and state champion in archery. He was a retired local 392 plumber & pipefitter which let him explore just about every major building in the tri-state area, where he liked knowing the inner workings and admiring the architecture. He spent his time enjoying professional/college sports, films, cooking/game shows, going on family trips, feeding the family pets, bird watching, listening to music (especially 70s rock and Hank Sr.) family dinners, sitting on the porch during warm days and watching/listening to his grandchildren play and sing. Most of all Glenn loved to tell stories, share memories about his family & friends, crack jokes and make people laugh. He never knew a stranger and treated everyone he met with kindness and respect. He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him. He is proceeded in death by his parents Ernest & Charlene Mays. He is survived by his daughters Maggie & Bethany Mays, son in law Josh Davis, Grandaughters Mya & Irah Davis, sister Ernalee Thompson, niece Jennifer Thomoson Stevenson, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Taylor Mill, KY Monday November 2nd, visitation 11-1 with outdoor graveside services at 1pm due to covid-19, the funeral will also be recorded and available to watch after service has concluded at www.floralhillsmemorialgardens.com
