Fred J. Eilers, of Burlington, KY, formerly of Park Hills, KY, age 83, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024. He was born on February 17, 1941, in Covington, KY to the late Fredrick and Florence (nee Miller) Eilers and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army from 1964 until 1968.
On August 30, 1969, Fred married the love of his life, Stella Eilers at Holy Cross Church. He sang in the church choir at St. Agnes, enjoyed participating and signing in the Redwood School Cotton Follies for many years. Fred was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, enjoyed cheering on the KY Wild Cats, was an avid lover of history, especially spending time in his Civil War memorabilia room at his house and traveling to Siesta Key annually.
Both Fred and his wife, Stella held a deep passion for helping others, so just as Stella, Fred decided to have his body donated to the Department of Anatomy of the UC College of Medicine.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents: Fred and Florence Eilers; and his loving wife, Stella Eilers. He is survived by his adoring daughter: Lisa (Robert) Lyle; sister: Libby (Ron) Dermody; nieces and nephews: Linda (Scott) Schilling, Amy (Chris) Eyers, Mick Daum, Rick Daum, Nick Daum, Tony Gavin and Gary Gavin and close family friend: Pat Rusche.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 5876 Veterans Way, Burlington, KY on Saturday, December 14th, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
The family has entrusted the care of Fred to Floral Hills Funeral Home.
