Geneva Speagle

March 21, 1928 — June 23, 2009

Geneva Robinson Speagle, 81, of Independence died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood.
She was a retired administrative clerk for J.C. Penney and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
Her husband, John Speagle, died in 2006.
Survivors include daughters, Brenda Thomas of Corbin, Beverly Ivey of Taylor Mill and Debi Lyons of Independence; sons, Mark Speagle of Burlington and Matt Speagle of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters, Leona Biddle and Comelia Cook, both of Grant County; a brother, Ray Robinson of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery in Taylor Mill.
