Glenda Sue (Brown) Painter
Sue Painter of Cold Spring, KY, age 74, entered her reward, Wednesday, February 27, 2020 at Seasons Care Center in Alexandria, KY. She was born August 31, 1945 in Crab Orchard, KY to the late Vernon Bryant Brown and Beulah Gravely (Smith) Brown. On April 8, 1971, she married Harold James Painter. They have 2 sons, Thomas Vernon Painter (wife-Donna, children-Jenna Elizabeth, Benjamin Thomas) and James Alan Painter (wife-Carissa, children-Eli James, Alexa Jane). She graduated from Crab Orchard High School, attended Berea College, earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Cumberland College, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Harding University, and a Rank 1 in Education from Northern Kentucky University. She was a teacher at Highland Heights Elementary School from 1966-2001. She was an original member of the Summit Church of Christ, where she kept everyone laughing. She could usually be found preparing young people for Bible Bowl competitions or organizing activities for the Summit Seniors.
Sue leaves a legacy of faith, learning, and laughter. The world is better for her years in it. We are poorer for her passing from it.
A visitation will be held on Monday March 2, 2020 at Summit Church of Christ, 6015 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, Ky, 41076 from 10am -12pm with a service to follow. Burial will be held in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Rd, Taylor Mill, KY, 41015 after the service. Floral Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Painter Family. Condolences can be left online at www.floralhillsmemorialgardens.com. Memorials are to be given to Summit Church of Christ or The Alzheimer's Association in honor of Sue.
