Hagan Denzil Ritchie, 90, of Taylor Mill, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at UC Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born February 21, 1931, in Knott County, Kentucky, a son of the late Alexander Ritchie and Elsie Combs Ritchie. Hagan graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1953 and went on to teach the 5th grade and drive a school bus in Kenton County for 27 years. Hagan was a Christian, a Gideon, and loved his church, Latonia Baptist, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher until his passing. He is survived by his wife, Lois Jean Braswell Ritchie; son, Thomas Ritchie and wife Emily; daughter, Juliana Ritchie Sullivan and husband Brian; his grandchildren, Brody, Iris and Carole Sullivan, and Rhett, Grace and Clark Ritchie. Hagan was a loving husband, father and grandfather and always had a story and a photograph to share. His beautiful wood working will never be forgotten, especially by his children and grandchildren who still play with the many wooden cars, trucks and trains he has made for them over the past 40 years. Hagan loved his alma mater and never missed a UK basketball game. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Floral Hills Funeral Home, where visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, with interment to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Latonia Baptist Church.
