Helen Tackett

Helen Marie Tackett, 81, of Highland Heights, Kentucky, passed away at home on Saturday, August 6, 2022, surrounded by family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Diana Lynn (Dale) Lusk, Ward (Tina) Tackett, Charles (Misty) Tackett and Doak (Angie) Tackett, as well as eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, (brother) Larry Hooper and (adoptive sister) Shirley Nicholson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Tackett.

Helen worked for and retired from Kenner Toys and Sabataso Foods, earning her GED during this time at the age of 53. When she was well enough, she loved going to church, singing, listening to music, watching wholesome movies and senior outings. Some of her hobbies included crocheting blankets, arts and crafts.  She became an auxiliary member of the DAV to support her husband and other disabled American veterans as she believed in God and country.  An animal lover, always taking in stray cats, dogs and even a few opossums.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Talyor Mill, KY, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Burial will directly follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens located on site. Then an informal reception afterwards.
