Herbert L. Schultz, 88, of Melbourne, died Monday at Hospice of the Bluegrass-Northern Kentucky, Fort Thomas.
He was a farmer and a member of St. Joseph Church, Camp Springs, and the Campbell County Pioneers, and former member of the Southern States COOP Board of Directors, A.C.S. Board of Directors and the Campbell County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
His first wife, Maud Dozier Schultz, died in 1990. Sons, Herbert Schultz and Mark Schultz, died in 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley A. Spaulding Schultz; sons, Edwin Schultz of California, Larry Schultz of Piqua, Ohio, and Jerry Schultz of Aurora , Ind.; daughters, Mary Straman of Fort Thomas, Joyce Studer of Highland Heights, Patty Nelson of California, Kathy Baxter of Alexandria, and Brenda Baker of Florence; a stepson, Bob Graden of Burnsville, Minn.; stepdaughters, Beverly Sills of West Chester, Ohio, Nancy Graden of Minneapolis, and Doris Anger of Apple Valley, Minn.; a brother, Leonard Schultz of Alexandria; sisters, Anna Mae Gosney of California, Freida Hartig of Melbourne, and Della Kramer of Alexandria; 36 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church, Camp Springs. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill.
