James Eldred

COVINGTON - James "Jimmy Lee" Eldred, 95, died Saturday, Jan. 16, at Rosedale Manor, Covington.
He was a piano teacher for nearly 77 years, played piano for WCKY radio's morning show, "Alarm Clock Melodies" in the 1920s, had his own show at WZIP Radio from 1947 to 1950 called "Serenade by Lee," an organist for Main Street Methodist, St. Luke United Methodist and Trinity United Methodist churches in Covington and served as a substitute organist in other churches.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Naomi Eldred; sons, Jerry Eldred, James Eldred, Jeffrey Eldred and John Eldred; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of Covington.
No public services. Floral Hills Funeral Home of Taylor Mill is handling arrangements.
