James Porter Perrin was born on December 6, 1948 in Covington, KY to the late Birdie Bell and Eugene Perrin. James departed this life on December 26, 2021. James attended Holmes High School followed by service as a Sailor in the United States Navy. He later spent many of his years as an electrician then moved into less strenuous work as a cab driver. James’ presence in the community as cab driver was admired by many as “Uncle James” or “Grandpa”. He was known best for his love of life, joking demeanor, and care for others. One of his favorite hobbies was fishing as well as enjoying family and friends. James was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death not only by both of his parents but also his loving brothers Eugene, Nelson (Anna), and John Perrin. He leaves to cherish his memory: sisters; Pauline Stone, Priscilla Perrin-Lawson, Rebecca Perrin-Rhodes; sister-in-laws Audrey Perrin of Danville, KY and Linda Howell-Perrin; daughters; JaMia Dozier, Nakesha Perrin-Elazzouzi, Michelle Perrin-Davis; grandchildren, James Perrin II (Jessica), Quintin Dozier (Sarah), Treonte Perrin, Myshon Davis, Ishmael Elazzouzi, Malik Davis, Maria Davis, Mashya Davis, MarKayla Davis, Malachi Perrin; great-grands, Cheyenne Dozier, Quintin Dozier Jr., twins Mia’Mor and Carmelo Dozier; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the Floral Hills Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11-1 P.M. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
