James "Pee Wee", 88, of Newport, passed away on February 9, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Fort Thomas, KY. He was a retired rigger with Interlake Steel in Newport, KY, a member of Lawler-Hanlon VFW Post # 5662 and a WWII Army Veteran. James was born September 20, 1923 in Jackson, KY to Roger Turner and Sallie Jane (nee: Deaton) Turner. He was preceded in death by Wife, Alta (nee: Renchen) Turner, Daughter, Norma Jean Coomer, Step Son, Albert Walker, Brother, Thomas T. Turner, Sisters, Pauline Deaton & Mima Mae McCullah and Grandson, Roger Mason. James is survived by his Son, James E. (Martha) Turner of Elmwood Place, OH, Step Daughters, Helen Vice & Violet (Charles) McCall both of Maysville, KY & Peggy Miller of Covington, KY, Brothers, Clay B. Turner of Newport, KY & John A. (Lucille) Turner of California, KY, Sisters, Martha E. Turner of California, KY, Mabel Combs of Newport, KY & Dorothy E. Stargle of Norwood, OH, Sister in Law, Monzell G. Turner of Flagler Beach, FL, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren & 5 great great grandchildren. Visitation Tuesday, February 14, 2012, 4pm to 8pm at the Dobbling, Muehlenkamp & Ershcell Funeral Home, 835 York Street, Newport, KY. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 15, 1:00pm at the Dobbling, Muehlenkamp & Erschell Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Turner officiating.
