John A., 68, of Independence, KY passed away June 2, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood. John is retired from the Bemis Company, Florence, KY, past member of the Independence Volunteer Fire Department and proudly served in the US Navy. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Patty Piper. Survivors include his sons Tony (Lisa) Piper of Bellevue, KY, Sean (Marsha) Piper of Independence, KY and William (Katrina) Piper of Glencoe, KY; daughters Tonya (Mike) Hodges of Crittenden, KY and Tina McGuffen of Loveland, OH; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother David Piper; sister Pam McMillen and caregiver Darlene Piper. Visitation will be held from 3pm until time of funeral service at 7pm, Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorials suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 South Loop Road, Edgewood, KY 41017. Floral Hills Funeral Home is serving the family.
