Josephine Smith

Josephine "Shirley" Smith, 75, of Covington, Kentucky passed away on February 19, 2018 at St Elizabeth, Ft Thomas. Shirley was born on May 22, 1942 to the late William Joseph Grimes and Flora Mae Coffman. On January 4, 1962 she married Paul F. Grooms and he preceded her in death in 1970. She then married Louis H. Allen who preceded her in death in 2011. Shirley was an avid BINGO player and she loved to play the slot machines. Reading was her passion, and she "traveled the world" through reading. Shirley also enjoyed playing board games and spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by all those she knew and loved.
Shirley is survived by her loving children Steven Grooms, Donna Grooms, Dillard "Bo" Grooms, Richard "Rocky" (Annette) Grooms, Travis Allen and Tracey Allen; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to Floral Hills Funeral Home to help with final expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Floral Hills Funeral Home from 5pm until time of service at 7 pm. A private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
