Joyce Battaglia

Joyce Battaglia, 75, of Union, Kentucky passed away on March 16, 2018 at St. Elizabeth, Florence. She was born May 12, 1942 to the late Amer Allen and Viola Penick. On June 30, 1973 Joyce married Joseph Battaglia who survives. Joyce was a very talented seamstress who owned and operated her own business. She enjoyed interior decorating as well as making window treatments for area businesses and homeowners. She and her husband were past owners of Battenwood Ice Cream Parlor where they spent many years serving their community. Joyce was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be sadly missed.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband Joseph; her children Steven Rapp, Michael Douglas Rapp and Angela Battaglia Trego and her husband James; grandchildren Aaron Rapp, Hanna Rapp, Alec Battaglia, Austin Rapp, Rachael Rapp, Steven Rapp, Ava Trego and Amelia Trego; brothers Amer Penick, James Penick and Milton Penick; sisters Mary Lou Graham and Bonnietta Grizzell; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Floral Hills Funeral Home from 11am until time of service at 1pm. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
