Joyce Whitney

Joyce Whitney, 70, of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky passed away at home on April 10, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sharon, Massachusetts on November 23, 1946 to Walter and Elizabeth Baker. In 1969, she married Richard Whitney, who preceded her in death in 2014.
Joyce was a loving mother to her children Todd (Tracy) Whitney and Nicole (Tony) Ponting; loving grandmother to Max Ponting, Abbie Whitney, Owen Ponting, Ava Whitney, Tyler Whitney and Libby Ponting; sister to Richard Baker and a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She was an avid reader and she loved spending time at the beach. Joyce loved music and dancing and spending time with her friends, but the thing she loved most was being involved in her grandchildren's lives, enjoying all of their activities. Joyce also treasured time with her high school friends, having lunch on a regular basis. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In keeping with her philanthropic beliefs, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 10 am until time of service at noon at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Online condolences can be left at www.floralhillsmemorialgardens.com
