Kathryn Fightmaster

Kathryn Fightmaster, 98, of Covington, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2017. She was born November 26, 1918 to the late Fred and Mattie Slade.
Kathryn graduated from Pinkerton High School of Midway College in 1936 and attended Midway College. She was always very proud of this accomplishment. She worked and sacrificed all her life to raise and support her children and grandchildren. She was a strong Christian woman who raised her children with faith and Christian values. She will be sorely missed.
She was the loving mother of Wayne (Joan) Whalen, Gary Whalen, Sharon (David) Harris, Claudia Cosgrove, Mary (Tom) Mack and Kirk (Nancy) Fightmaster who survive. She is also survived by her grandchildren David, Kathy, Heather, Stacey, Tara, Matthew, Dana and Britney; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her son Sandy Whalen and daughter in law Sandy K. Whalen as well as her siblings Loreda, Dorothy, Vernon, Raymond and Libby.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make donations to your local Hospice.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2:45 at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Online condolences can be left at www.floralhillsmemorialgardens.com Floral Hills Funeral Home is serving the family.
