Kevin Wayne Moermond

Kevin Wayne Moermond, of Independence, KY passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the vibrant age of 56. He was born in Ft. Thomas, KY on June 5, 1967, the son of the late Jack and Betty Moermond. Kevin was a longtime employee of McLane Food Service in Hebron, KY where he was a delivery specialist and had attended Highland Hills Church in Ft. Thomas, KY. Kevin was known as a workaholic, but in his downtime enjoyed riding his motorcycle and going fishing. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his beloved family who he cherished deeply. Preceding Kevin in death were his parents, Jack and Betty Moermond. Those left surviving to carry on Kevin’s memory include his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Margaret Moermond; children, Juliann Cannon, Kristina Moermond and Jeffrey (Jamie Wilkinson) Moermond; siblings, Mark (Tina) Moermond and Donna (Herb) Morgan; grandchild, Gabrielle “Mercury” Cannon; feline companions, Sterling and Sullivan; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and grand-animals. A Gathering of Friends will take place on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, KY 41015. A Memorial Service honoring Kevin’s life will immediately follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
