Leota Georgette Shipley

Leota Georgette Shipley, 67, of Independence KY, passed away on July 9, 2023. Leota was
born on June 9, 1956 in Perryton, Texas. She is the daughter of the late Leroy and Dovie
Slovacek.

Leota is survived by her husband, Hershel Shipley and their 2 children, son, Christopher (Kacia)
Shipley of Butler, KY and daughter, Hachelle Alsip of Independence, KY. She leaves behind 5
Grandchildren, Logan Shipley, Savannah Shipley, Lane Alsip, Whitney Alsip and Katie Alsip, 2
Step Grandchildren, Jordan Mitchell and Tristan Mitchell and 2 great grandchildren, Colt and
Georgia Mae.

Leota is preceded by 4 siblings, Rhonda Slovacek, Vernon Slovacek, Teresa Cottrill and Kathryn
Corr and 13 nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Slovacek.

A celebration of life will be held in Leota’s home at 10362 Corinth Ct Independence, KY 41051
on Saturday July 22, 2023 between the hours of 2p-4p.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to help cover costs. Donations can be
