Linda Faye Hammons, born on August 31, 1944, in Newport, KY passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024 at St Elizabeth Ft Thomas.
A dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Linda served the community for over 45 years across various nursing homes and the home health field where she touched the lives of countless individuals with her compassionate care and unwavering commitment to helping others. Her professional journey is a testament to her selflessness and deep sense of responsibility.
In addition to her nursing career Linda was a devoted member of Main Street Baptist Church, Florence, KY where she shared her passion for music as the music director. Her love for singing brought joy to many reflecting her vibrant spirit and dedication to her faith. Beyond her church involvement Linda enjoyed sewing, knitting, working in her rose garden and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid dog and bird lover, finding solace and companionship in her furry/feathered friends. Linda also enjoyed traveling with her husband to Florida to visit family and to embark on several cruises to various destinations.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Teri Hammons (Florence), Amber Martin (Molino, FL) and Daughter-In-Law, Lisa Hammons (Florence) who carry on her legacy of love and strength. She has cherished her role as a grandmother to 6 grandchildren, Casey Lyons, Thomas Bennett, Christina Garcia Piña, Jean Lyons, Tiffany Klette and Crystal Hammons and took immense joy in her numerous great grandchildren often captivating them with stories of her life and values, kindness and hard work. Linda will also be missed by many long-term friends whom she developed life-long relationships with and are now emptier upon her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cartha Crawford and Nerline Childers Crawford, husband, Edwin, her son Hayden Perry and son Tory. Linda is reunited with her beloved sisters Lucille Crawford, Carolyn Strasinger and Genevieve Patton.
A memorial service for Linda will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Floral Hills Funeral Home ~ Chapel B, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, Kentucky 41015. Linda will then be reunited with her loving husband and laid to rest peacefully at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Linda Faye Hammons will be remembered for her unwavering care for others, her deep rooted love for her family and her zest for life. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
