Margaret Crum

December 28, 1927 — January 21, 2017

Margaret Bernice Crum, age 89 of Monroe, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 12:10 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Magnum Care of Monroe. Her health had been declining for the past two years. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Taylor Mill, Kentucky. Interment will follow at 10 a.m. Saturday at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, in Taylor Mill, Kentucky. Born December 28, 1927 in Lexington, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Milford and Amy (Ramsey) Taylor. She married Jack Wallace Crum on January 12, 1946 in Covington, Kentucky. As a lifelong homemaker, Margaret possessed a natural love for all babies. She taught Sunday School to several neighborhood kids in her home, complete with scripture lessons and arts and crafts. Margaret loved to go to the casino, especially Motor City Casino in Detroit, and thought it was a trip well spent if she left with the money she brought. She enjoyed painting ceramics and watching "The Gaithers" on television and attended several of their concerts. Margaret is survived by three daughters, Jackie Johnson of Monroe, Charlotte Totten of Poquoson, Virginia, and Betty Wing of Springport, Michigan; fifteen grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; one daughter, Laura Bussell; and two sons, Earl and William Crum. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
