Melbourne Cornett,
Of Newport, KY passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at his home. Melbourne was born June 7, 1932 to the late Delbert and Lena Cornett. In October 1955 he married Geraldine Shackleford Cornett who survives him. He was a Deacon of the Free Holiness Church of God. Melbourne enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He is also survived by his children Sheila (Dennis dec'd) Turner, Melbourne (Sheila)Cornett Jr., Sandy Burton, Wanda (Donald) Childers, Mary (Mark) Teremi, Pamela (Carlos) Guzman, Barbara (Douglas)McNeely, Elijah (Brenda dec'd) Cornett, Teresa (Mark) Schumann, Sharon Wagoner and Angela Shields; 31 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sisters Mable Couch, Jane Jones and Pat Parten. A Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Floral Hills Funeral Home from 11am until time of Funeral Service at 1pm. Burial will immediately follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
