Butler

Norman Lee Roark, Sr., of Butler, KY passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2024, at Western Hills Nursing Facility in Cincinnati, OH at the glorious age of 82.

He was born in Cincinnati, OH on September 13, 1941, the son of the late Shelly and Bessi Roark. Norman worked for over 40 years as a welder with Cincinnati Mine Machinery and had been a member of Wilmington Baptist Church. In his free time, Norman enjoyed relaxing by camping, playing cards and tending to his tomatoes in his vegetable garden. You could often find him peacefully swinging on his porch swing, reciting the lyrics of “Swinging” by John Anderson while going back and forth. Norman also worshiped the University of Kentucky college basketball and watched religiously. The only greater joy Norman received than watching UK play was from spending time with his beloved family whom he cherished deeply.

Preceding Norman in death were his parents; a daughter, Victoria Lynn Miles; two of his sons, William L. Roark and Lloyd Allen Roark; his brother, Beldon Eugene Roark and a grandson, Quintin “Yankee” Lane.

Those left surviving to carry on Norman’s legacy include his loving wife of 50 years, Betty Lou Roark; children, Norman (Lena) Roark, Jr., Quintin (Denise) Lane and Sherry Kay Roark; siblings, Edna Grimes and Tommy Roark; grandchildren, Brandy Johnson, Nicole Plummer, Norman Roark III, Mitchell Miles, Faith Bedford, Linda Bedford, Terren Ferguson, Autumn Roark, Patience Roark, Kendra Roark, Allen Frady, Aaron Mackey, Levi Frady, Randall Owens, Allen Roark, Quinton Roark, William Roark, Jr. and Sandra Roark; 20 great-grandchildren; as well as many other close relatives and friends.
