INDEPENDENCE - Oscar Schoonover, 86, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Edgewood.
He was a switchman for L&N Railroad, a World War II Army veteran, member of Community Family Church and Golden Rule Lodge 345 F.& A.M.
His wife, Nina Schoonover, died in 2006 and daughter, Anita Schoonover, died in 2002.
Survivors include her sons, Michael of Florence and David Schoonover of Morning View; daughter, Sherry Schoonover of Columbus, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, with service following at Allison & Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill.
