It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Peggy Jean Pope on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Peggy was a remarkable woman whose presence enriched the lives of many.
Peggy was born in Covington, KY on March 11, 1943. She was an excellent student and enjoyed learning in her formative years. Peggy's professional career was distinguished by her role as Vice President at Covington Trust, where her leadership and dedication left an indelible mark. Her commitment to excellence and her professional acumen earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and clients alike.
Outside of her professional life, Peggy was deeply involved in her community. She volunteered her time and energy at St. Stephen's/Holy Trinity Church, where her compassionate spirit and willingness to help others made a significant impact. Her faith and generosity were evident in all she did, and she was a cherished member of her church family.
Peggy had a passion for life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed shopping, finding joy in discovering new treasures, and playing cards, which brought her great happiness and camaraderie. Her love for these activities reflected her zest for life and her appreciation for moments of connection and fun.
Preceding Peggy in death was her sister, Bonnie.
Those left surviving to carry on Peggy’s memory include her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Robert Pope; children, Brian (Karen) Pope, Robert (Selene) Pope, Chris (Pam) Pope, Alan (Mandy) Pope, John (Melissa) Pope and Shawn Pope; grandchildren, Karla, Sarah, Samantha and Robby; as well as many other close relatives and friends who are now emptier upon her passing.
Peggy Jean Pope will be remembered for her warmth, her dedication, and her vibrant personality. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and community service that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A visitation celebrating Peggy’s life will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 10:00 Am until 11:00 AM at Floral Hills Funeral Home ~ Chapel A, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, KY 4015. Friends, family, and all whose lives she touched are invited to attend and celebrate her memory. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Peggy will then be laid to rest peacefully at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Peggy's family and friends will forever cherish the memories they shared with her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and grace she brought to the world.
