GLASER
Ralph J. Glaser, Sr., 92, of Independence and a longtime resident of Kenton Co. died Monday morning at Hospice of St. Elizabeth, Edgewood. He was a retired Home Builder and Contractor. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II with the rank of Master Sergeant, he received many decorations and citations for his service and heroism, including the Purple Heart, the European Theater Ribbon w/7 Bronze Stars and Battle Stars representing Tunisia, Naples-Foggia, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes and Rhineland; he participated in the invasion of Utah Beach in France, the siege of Aachen and the Battle of the Bulge. He was in Leipzig when Germany surrendered on May 9th, 1945. Following his military career, for more than 15 years he owned and operated the 3L Garage thru the 1950's at which time he then decided to go into the Home Building business for which he remained until retiring in the early 1980's. He was the developer of the Brown-Glaser subdivision on Richardson Road, which became Incorporated as Ridgeview Heights until it was Annexed by the City of Independence. In his spare time he was a former Boy Scout Leader and a Knothole baseball coach, a member of American Legion Post # 275 of Independence. He loved hunting and training beagle dogs for rabbit hunting. He also enjoyed breeding and raising Tennessee Walkers, which he sold that went on to successful careers at local fairs and horse shows. On June 4th of this year he and his wife Margaret celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Mr. Glaser was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Elizabeth Hildebrandt Glaser and brothers, John, Frank, Alfred and Fred Glaser and sisters, Marcella Brown, Viola Smeal and Florence Flickinger. Surviving with his wife of 70 years, Margaret E. Brown Glaser of Independence; is his son, Ralph J. (Joyce) Glaser, Jr. of Erlanger; 2 grandchildren, Ralph J. (Heather) Glaser, III of Hebron and Sherry (Cory Adkins) Glaser of Jonesboro, TN and 4 great grandchildren, Sophia Glaser, Mackenzie Glaser, Catherine Adkins and William Adkins. Funeral Services 1:00 PM Friday at MIDDENDORF-BULLOCK FUNERAL HOME, ERLANGER. Visitation begins at 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. Burial Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill.
