Robert Tripp "Bob" Baird, a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the glorious age of 92. Bob's remarkable journey, which began in Independence, Kentucky on October 28, 1931, came to a peaceful end at Villaspring of Erlanger Nursing Home. Born to the late Robert Lyle and Emma Elizabeth Baird, Bob lived a life marked by unwavering dedication, both in service to his country and in his personal passions.
Bob's legacy is profoundly intertwined with his 40+ years of devoted service at Cincinnati Bell Telephone, where he was a pillar of reliability and professionalism. His commitment to his country was equally steadfast. As a proud member of the United States Navy, Bob's bravery during the Korean War earned him several distinguished medals, a testament to his courage and selflessness.
Bob found joy in various pursuits. He was a member of the Latonia Masonic Lodge, and his love for golf, hunting, and University of Kentucky basketball were well-known among his friends and family. His spirited enthusiasm for these hobbies was matched only by his deep love for his family.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia "Snitzie" Baird; his daughter, Priscilla Baird; and his sisters, Jean Noell and Janet Baird. His absence leaves a profound void, but his memory will be carried forward by his loving family. Bob is survived by his devoted children, Paula (Frank) Tucker and Pamela (Kevin) Green; his cherished grandchildren, James (Misty) Lawrence, Jeremy (Tina) Lawrence, Rebecca Tucker, Skyler (Bradley) Sherwood and Robert Tucker; and his great-grandchildren, Mason Lawrence, Owen Lawrence, Kylee Lawrence, Makayla Lawrence, Layton Lawrence, Emma Tucker, Oliver Sherwood and Emmanuel Tucker. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by a host of relatives and friends whose lives he touched.
A visitation celebrating Bob’s life will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home ~ Chapel B, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, KY 41015. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:30 PM at the funeral home. Bob will then be reunited and laid to rest peacefully next to his wife at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
