Robert Lee “Bob” Burkart, Jr., 66, Ft. Wright, passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2018. He was born on May 17, 1952 to the late Robert, Sr. and Mary Edith Burkart. Bob had worked at RA Jones for 46 years and was a 9th Region Basketball Official. He played on the University of Kentucky basketball team and was a member of Covington Turners. He enjoyed the NBA, biking, hiking and table tennis. His greatest joy came from spending time with his son. In the words of his son, he was more than a Dad, Grandpa, role model and support system. From my biggest fan, to Tarheels coach, referee extraordinaire, jump rope advocate, banana eater, late night personal Uber driver, Trek biker, handyman for all my calls, Cincinnati Table Tennis champ and even doubled as Steve Carell for motion pictures. He touched the lives of so many, never meeting a soul he didn’t like. He was caring, thoughtful, grateful and a dedicated worker. You will be missed at our basketball games as the best score keeper for Mylia and tickle monster for Kennedy. We love and miss you already.
Bob is survived by his son and daughter in law Robert, III and Michelle Burkart as well as his adoring granddaughters Mylia and Kennedy and his former spouse Yvonne Burkart.
Contributions in Bob’s memory are suggested to Covington Turners and the Thomas More Alumni Fund.
