Robert C. "Bob" Shoemaker, 79, of Newport and formerly of Morningview died Monday morning at the Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. He was a retired Engineer for the CSX Railroad, a lifetime member of Colonel Clay # 159 F&AM Masonic Lodge and a U.S. Air Force Veteran of Korea. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janis Balser Shoemaker in 1969 and his second wife, Georgia Williams Shoemaker in 2007. Survivors include his sons, Robert (Sherry) Shoemaker of Morningview, James (Debbie) Shoemaker of Demossville and Jeff (Karen) Shoemaker of Butler; grandchildren, Chris (Christina) Shoemaker, Erik Shoemaker, Meridith Shoemaker, Kenton Shoemaker and Nancy Sue Shoemaker. Visitation 5-8 pm Thursday at MIDDENDORF-BULLOCK FUNERAL HOME, ERLANGER. Masonic services 7:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services 11 am Friday at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to: Hospice of St. Elizabeth, 483 S. Loop Road, Edgewood, KY 41017.
