Robert (Bob) Alexander, 79, of Covington, KY, passed away early Monday morning on 5/16/22 at St. Elizabeth Edgewood after a short illness.

Bob was a retired mechanical engineer and liked to solve technical challenges.  He described himself as a problem solver.  In 1984 he received the National Innovation Award for his invention of the Chimney Guard chimney cap.  He held five other patents.  Among many other talents, Bob loved to cook because he said he "likes to eat food that tastes good."  He was also known for his deviled eggs.

Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen Frazier Alexander, children Michelle (Mike) Stevens, Mark (Alan) and Douglas (Ken) Alexander, stepsons Stephen (Pam) and Evan (Jennifer) Frazier, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and brother James (Kathy) Alexander.  He was preceded in death by his brothers Donald (Julia) and Jack (Donna) Alexander and parents Hayden and Blanche (Hammond) Alexander.

Interment is at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Taylor Mill.  A private memorial celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date.
