Shirley Hutchins Tallent, 91, of Dry Ridge passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. She was a social worker for the State of Kentucky and Kenton County and a member of the Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Taylor Mill. She served for over forty years as a Sunday School teacher, over sixty years as WMU member, also served as a GA leader, a choir member, 4-H leader and did over 2000 hours per year of volunteer work. She was the daughter of the late Herman Rush and Sophia Wilhemina Agnes Keller Hutchins. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Meyers. Survivors include two sons, Terry Tallent of Dumfries, VA, Kevin Tallent of Delhi, OH; a daughter, Carol Scroggins of Dry Ridge; two sisters, Muriel Sievers of Covington, Margaret Hines of Kings Mills, OH; a brother, Bruce Hutchins of Ellicott City, MD; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be 11am-1pm, with funeral service at 1pm Saturday, February 18 at the Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 6056 Taylor Mill Road, Covington, KY 41015. Burial will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill, KY.
