Vannie Beard Jr

Vannie Beard, Jr. 87, of Covington, passed away on February 25, 2017. He was the son of the late Vannie Sr. and Emma Beard. He married Betty Lou, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children Vannie (Margaret) Beard III, Jerry L. Beard, Sr., Linda S. (Paul) Hammel, Cindy L. Sharon, Tina M. Hammel and Kim L. (Thomas) Henson; brother David Beard, Sr.; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
In addition to his parents and wife, Vannie was preceded in death by his grandson, Jerry L. Beard, Jr.
Vannie was a machinist for Interlake Steel in Newport, Kentucky for 25 plus years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and Nascar. He also loved to watch John Wayne Westerns. Vannie will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 6 from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Online condolences can be left by visiting www.floralhillsmemorialgardens.com
