Virgil Layne

Virgil E. Layne, 96 of Union, KY formerly of Ashland, KY and Pikeville, KY passed away on June 26, 2015 at Liberty at Riverview Nursing Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He retired after 38 years with Greyhound Bus Lines as a Driver. A member of Unity Baptist Church in Ashland, KY and a Navy Veteran serving during WW II. He was preceded in death by a Son: David Layne, Sister: Beatrice Walters and a Brother: Guy Layne. Virgil is survived by his Loving Wife of 67 years, Vesta Collins Layne; Daughters: Freda Kelly (Ralph), Priscilla Sammons (Artie) and Lola Watters (Johnny); Son: Virgil Gordon Layne (Teresa) ; 11 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. The Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Taylor Mill, KY from 11 AM until the Service at 1 PM. An Honor Guard Service and Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill, KY. Memorials to: Disabled American Veterans.
