Wanda June Setters

Wanda June Setters, 81, of Covington, longtime resident of Independence, died Friday, September 1, 2023, at Villa Springs Nursing and Rehab, with her family by her bedside. She was born June 12, 1942, in Independence, to the late Joseph Herman Setters and Anna Margaret Schaulker Setters.  She is survived by three children, Donna Abrams Houston (Charlie), Kimberly Abrams Thomas (Rod), and Donald Wayne Abrams II (Tammy), and one sister, Barbara Setters Voss. Her grandchildren are Brandee Houston Hicks, Jessica Thomas Marsh, Rachael Thomas Ulrich (Skyler), Gabrielle Nicole Abrams, and Jade McKensie Abrams.  She has 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She worked as a Cincinnati Bell Operator, Wagner Electric, and a long-time Store Clerk of the In and Out Market in Independence. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Setters, sister, Jo Ann Setters, and grandsons, Christopher B. Perkins and Brennan Wayne Thomas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, with Ryan Burkhart officiating.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12:00 - 1:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.  Memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. There will be a fellowship meal after the burial at the Floral Hills Funeral Home.
