William Jones

An American Hero

William Paul Jones, born on July 23rd, 1928 in Covington, KY. After graduation he became a police officer for the city of Covington for many years.

Joined the U.S. Army in 1954. Dad received many medals of honor, one in particular for creating a new filing system for the Army. He did 2 tours in Vietnam as a medic. He was involved in an accident which disabled him and he was retired from service in 1970. Worked as a security guard for Central Trust Bank in Cincinnati, OH for 19 years.

Leaves behind his three children: Donna Iles of FL, Patty Puckett and Mark Jones of KY. One sister: Betty Wormus of OH. 5 grandkids and 7 great-grandkids. 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 6 great-nephews, 4 great-nieces, and 2 great-great-nieces.

He resided at Mt. Washington Care Center in Ohio for 4 years where he passed peacefully on September 4th, 2020.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12th from 11am until time of Funeral Service at 1pm, all at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Rd. Taylor Mill, KY 41015.
