William Nuerge

William Alfred Nuerge (Bill) of Independence, KY died on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 at the age of 65.
Bill is survived by his wife Teri; children - Amy, Aaron, Branden, Josh, Austin and Kelsey; grandchildren - Conner, Mason, Justice, Austin, Hannah, Sam, Travis, Jasmine, Willow, and Jackson; siblings Sharon, Cindy and Chuck. Bill is preceded in death by his son Andy, parents Corydon and Josephine, and siblings Jim and Corydon.
Bill was born on October 21st, 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor's of Science Degree followed by two years post graduate study in management and business law and further completed his education with an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Bill's many accomplishments in life include being elected the "Outstanding Professional" of his MBA graduating class as well as being named a Purdue Distinguished Alumnus in 2004.
Professionally, Bill has over 33 years pharmaceutical experience. In 1994, Bill joined Richwood Pharmaceuticals Company, Inc. as Chief Operating Officer. In 1997, Richwood merged with Shire and Bill was subsequently promoted to President and CEO of Shire U.S. Bill began advising Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in 2004, and subsequently accepted the CEO position until his retirement in 2007. Bill continued to serve on the Board of Directors for Supernus Pharmaceuticals until his death.
Bill was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His main focus in life was his family - he was a true patriarch. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, horse racing, bee keeping, his dog Coral, and his grand-dog Indy.
A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16th, 2018 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at 7 Hills Church in Florence, KY with service to follow. The burial service will take place at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill, KY following the funeral service.
