William Wren

August 30, 1921 — February 25, 2015

William Joseph "Joe" Wren, of Independence, KY passed away February 25, 2015. Born on August 30, 1921 in Butler, KY, graduated from Butler High School and then moved to Ludlow, KY. He retired in 1987 after working at Ford Motor Company for 35 years. Joe was a gentle man with a great sense of humor and always saw the good in everyone. He enjoyed meeting people and extremely loving and proud of his Family. He was a strong Christian and had been a deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Oak Ridge Baptist Church. His hobbies included spending time with his grandchildren, woodworking and gardening. Joe is survived by his Daughter: Bobbie (Rob) Flanigan of Ft. Wright; Sons: Dave (Sherri) Wren of Erlanger and Bill (Wendy) Wren of North Yarmouth, Maine; Sisters: Norma (Dick) Meyers of Cincinnati, Bessie Fleissner of Ludlow and Mary Reynolds of Ludlow; also 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Wife: Louise and a Daughter: Joanie and a Grandson: Hugh. The Visitation will be on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Taylor Mill, KY. Funeral Service on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 10 AM at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of Flowers, Donations can be made to Fairhaven Rescue Mission 260 Pike Street Covington, KY 41011 or Parkinson's Wellness Center 260 Stetson Street Suite 2300 Cincinnati, OH 45267.
